Cookie Policy
1. The short version
We don't use advertising cookies or tracking cookies, and we don't use third-party analytics such as Google Analytics.
Our websites, manoai.co.uk and manoai.org, don't set any cookies. The MANO portal at app.manoai.co.uk saves some information in your browser so that you can stay signed in, so that it remembers the settings you choose, and so that it loads quickly. All of it is needed for the portal to work or to do something you asked it to do. That is why we don't show a cookie banner.
This policy explains exactly what is stored, why, and how to remove it. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.
2. What we mean by cookies
A cookie is a small file a website saves in your browser. Websites can also save information using your browser's local storage (kept until it is cleared) and session storage (deleted when you close the tab). UK law, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), treats all of these the same way. In this policy, "cookies" covers all three.
The law says websites may store information on your device without asking first only when it is strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for. Anything else, like advertising or tracking, needs your consent. Everything MANO stores falls into the first group.
3. Our websites: manoai.co.uk and manoai.org
Our websites don't set cookies and don't track you. There is one small exception:

Google Fonts. Our pages load their typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). To send the font files, Google receives your IP address and basic browser details, as it would for any web request. Google Fonts does not set cookies. See Google's Privacy Policy.
4. The MANO portal: app.manoai.co.uk
The portal doesn't set cookies. It uses your browser's local storage and session storage for the purposes below. Exact names can change as we update the portal, but the purposes don't.

Signing out on a shared computer. Signing out ends your session, but the working copy of your work stays in that browser until someone else signs in or the browser data is cleared. If you use MANO on a shared or public computer, clear the browser's data for app.manoai.co.uk when you finish (see section 6).
How we measure feature use. To work out time saved and improve MANO, the portal records which features are used, such as a quote being calculated, in our own database. This doesn't use cookies or any third-party analytics service. Our Privacy Policy explains this in full.
5. Other services the portal uses
The portal relies on a few trusted providers to run. When we tested, none of them set cookies on your device. They receive the technical details any website does, such as your IP address.
- Supabase: our database and sign-in system, hosted in the EU (Ireland).
- Netlify: hosts our websites and the portal.
- Cloudflare: runs our services for AI features and for MOT and FCA lookups.
- jsDelivr: delivers some of the code libraries the portal uses.
- Google Fonts: delivers typefaces, as on our websites.
6. How to see or remove what's stored
You can delete everything MANO has stored at any time by clearing your browser's data for our sites. If you clear it for app.manoai.co.uk, you'll be signed out and your settings will reset. Your work itself is safe, because it is saved to your MANO account and comes back when you sign in.
- Chrome and Edge: click the icon to the left of the web address, then Site settings, then Delete data.
- Safari on Mac: Settings, then Privacy, then Manage Website Data. Search for manoai and remove it.
- Safari on iPhone: Settings, then Apps, then Safari, then Advanced, then Website Data.
- Firefox: click the padlock next to the web address, then Clear cookies and site data.
You can also set your browser to block storage. If you block it for app.manoai.co.uk, the portal won't be able to keep you signed in.
7. Changes to this policy
If we ever want to use cookies that aren't strictly necessary, such as for analytics or advertising, we will ask for your consent first and update this policy before we do. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
